After making a late run in the end-of-year list pile-up, and getting played out on the stickiest New Year’s Eve dance floors of the world, Decius release the final single from their debut album Decius Vol. I. ‘Roberto’s Tumescence’ pays homage to the fertile Belgian discos of the 70s and 80s – built on a sample of Transvolta’s ‘Disco Computer’, it comes with a fresh extended version for extended good times.
According to frontman Lias Saoudi, “Other than canonisation, Decius have no plans for the future.” It’s not strictly true, as they’re also planning to play Studio 9294 in Hackney Wick on January 20th. But with The Quietus giving them #5 in their album of the year chart and #2 in their tracks of the year, Juno Daily giving them #2 in their album countdown and Music OMH giving it #3, who would count against sainthood in the near future?
Get up to speed with Decius life in this Juno interview.
