longer than we expected for it to see the light of day. Indeed, the physical release will follow later, but it will be worth the wait. The digital album is out today – we’ve all waited quite long enough for this one.
This album came to us via Matthew Bourne, as many of the best albums do, and we were immediately drawn into its world. Before we learnt of its data-led start to life, we were struck by its peculiar beauty. There’s a certain other-worldliness to it that kept us coming back for more. The fact the music on Chimetcharts the progress of two storms over the course of a week, utilising data from a weather station in the Solent, only deepened our intrigue. Who knew data sonification could be so alluring?
It’s one of those records that rewards close listening. Music to watch the horizon to.
